Supporting the Construction of Decision Models for Software Selection: Towards a Probabilistic Traceability Approach

This paper describes an approach to the problem of constructing software package selection models. This approach is based on an analysis of the contents of package description documents using rules which can: (i) extract selection criteria from descriptions of package features, (ii) structure the extracted criteria in a package selection model, and (iii) trace these criteria onto descriptions of other package features which have the potential of satisfying them.
